Future Goals and Career Aspirations

As I continue through my dental hygiene education, my classroom and clinical experiences have shown me how unequal access to dental care can be and how much compassion, education, and prevention can influence a patient’s overall health. These experiences have shaped my short term goal of becoming a competent, licensed clinician in a general practice setting, where I can provide patient-centered care, communicate effectively, and build a strong clinical foundation. I also plan to volunteer regularly in public health initiatives, using my skills to support underserved communities and help reduce disparities in oral healthcare.

In the long term, I hope to continue my education by earning a bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene or a public health–related field, which will allow me to explore roles beyond clinical practice. I aspire to contribute to public health programs, advocacy, administration, or education, helping develop initiatives that improve access to care and promote prevention on a broader scale. Ultimately, I want to build a career that not only improves individual smiles but strengthens community health and ensures people have fair access to the care and education they need to maintain lifelong oral health.
