• AMEN free Clinic -I had the opportunity to participate in an event called the AMEN free clinic. This clinic provides multifaceted healthcare to populations that might not otherwise have access to these services. During this event I was able to assist chairside while doctors performed extractions. I was able to gain some assisting experience as well as have a role in providing necessary emergency dental treatment to patients that were in need completely free of charge. 

• Deaf and Dental - This was a collaborative event that paired dental hygiene students with interpreting students to provide dental care to deaf patients. 

Both of these volunteer opportunities solidified my commitment to treating underserved communities. Especially low-income communities where financial barriers prevent people from receiving the care they need. These opportunities allowed me to have hands on experience with serving these communities which is invaluable.
